Synopsis
Cuba’s ruthless leader, Fidel Castro, is demystified at last in this daring, inventive and subversive tragic-comedy. Defying yet another assassination attempt – this time at sea – Castro is the sole survivor of an explosion on his yacht and ironically finds himself ashore on the Florida Keys, like so many of the Cuban refugees he has driven from his totalitarian state. Sunburned and dehydrated, he is unrecognizable.
While taking shelter at “El Mojito,” a small Cuban restaurant, Fidel discovers the “other” Cuba in Miami, represented by exiles, as he is forced to recount – and reconsider – the events of his life and the consequences of his regime.
