Synopsis
New York City’s vibrant, diverse and kinetic Washington Heights neighborhood is seen through the eyes and passions of four troubled young people. Driven to the edge, all attempt suicide on the same day and meet in a city hospital. Though each is grappling with a different personal crisis – an unwanted pregnancy, social alienation, severe depression, self-mutilation – they slowly reach out and are inextricably drawn to one another.
Their mental state may be precarious, but their passions are real. As they bond and become one another’s strength, their resourcefulness and resilience become a mirror and a tribute to the vibrancy of Latino Washington Heights.
