Synopsis
Hélène is an arrogant, affluent French businesswoman in her 40’s. Her desire to adopt a child leads her to travel to Argentina, but, once there, her plans are thwarted. Soon, however, she learns of an impoverished place in the northeast, where babies are sold. There, she meets Juana, a poor, pregnant woman, who, along with her 13 year-old son, is about to be evicted from her shack in the countryside. An unexpected relationship blossoms, with each woman possessing something the other needs. Is Hélène’s newfound altruism real? Is Juana as naïve as she seems?
